RIPTA Restores Former Route 40 Service in Response to Community Requests
Former service reactivated starting tomorrow morning, Friday, June 27, 2008
June 25, 2008 - Providence, Rhode Island... The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will restore the former Route 40 service (Butler/Elmgrove) in response to requests from the community to not change the service. RIPTA will change back to the old service tomorrow morning, Friday, June 27, 2008.
RIPTA had changed the Route 40 service on June 21, 2008 to include routing segments with bus stops on Angell and President Streets. These segments will be removed as of June 27th.
A community meeting will be held Monday, June 30th at the Jewish Community Center on Elmgrove at 6:30 pm when information on the route will be provided by a RIPTA representative.
