RIPTA Schedules 2010 Community Site Visits for Bus Pass Program for Senior’s and People with Disabilities

December 2, 2009 - Providence, Rhode Island... The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) today released the 2010 Community Site Visit Schedule for the Bus Pass Program for Senior’s and People with Disabilities.

Staff from RIPTA’s Photo Identification Office in Kennedy Plaza travel weekly to communities throughout the state to provide bus passes to qualified seniors and individuals with disabilities, who are unable to get to the main office in downtown Providence. The main office, which is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to Noon and 1 pm to 4 pm, will continue to be closed all day every Friday to provide identification “road trip” services around the state. Photo identification bus passes are available to seniors and other qualified individuals with valid documentation. Senior passes currently cost $10.00 and are valid for 5 years. Identification cards for people with disabilities currently cost $10.00 and are valid for 5 years.
