Guaranteed Ride Home gives FREE taxi rides home (in case of emergency) to carpoolers

Who may use the Guaranteed Ride Home?
GRH is available to individuals who carpool and who have registered with Commuter Resource RI (Rhode Island's state funded rideshare program.) Call 1-888-887-4782 to register.
How often can I use it?
GRH may be used up to two (2) times per calendar year.
How do i use it?
You will be issued a taxi voucher good for a taxi ride up to $100. Vouchers expire at the end of the calendar year and are renewable.
When can i use it?
Unless otherwise noted in the "Participating Taxi service providers" section, hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How long will i have to wait for the taxi?
Please direct related inquiries to dispatcher at time of call-in.
How to use the sservice
1) Choose a Taxi Service Provider
Call one of the taxi companies listed in this brochure. Identify yourself as a participant in the Commuter resource RI GRH program.
2) Fill out Voucher
3) Present Voucher to Taxi Service Provider
The taxicab driver must complete the remaining information on the voucher. Please keep the bottom copy for your records.
4) Go Home!
The voucher will pay the cost of the taxi ride up to $100. Gratuity not included (10-15% is customary).
After using the GRH sservice, send in the follow-up taxi ride questionnaire that you have received with your voucher to receive a replacement voucher.

- Personal or family emergency or illness.
- Mandatory unscheduled overtime.
- Unexpected early departure of carpool partner
- Any rides TO work.
- Pre-scheduled appointments, such as doctor's visits.
- Inclement weather, weather inconveniences or unexpected acts of nature.
- Planned overtime.
- Business related travel.
- Trips to the hospital in place of ambulance sservice.
