RIde Anywhere 

The RIde Anywhere program provides door-to-door access anywhere in Rhode Island for qualified passengers with disabilities. First launched as a pilot in January 2024, RIde Anywhere was made permanent by the General Assembly in 2025. This premium program expands RIPTA’s RIde ADA paratransit program—a shared, reservation only, door-to-door service designed to accommodate people who have disabilities that prevent their independent use of fixed-route bus service. RIde is considered a complementary service, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, operating within ¾ mile on either side of a fixed-route bus stop and during the same hours as fixed-route bus service.

How can I participate in the RIde Anywhere Program?

You must complete the standard RIde ADA paratransit application and be accepted before you can participate in the RIde Anywhere program.

I’m already qualified for RIPTA’s RIde ADA Paratransit Program. Do I need to reapply?

No. If you are already qualified for RIde paratransit, you can simply request your trip as you usually do.

How do I schedule a RIde Anywhere trip?

To make a reservation, call (401) 461-9760 between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday. Reservations may be placed on Sunday by leaving a detailed voicemail message between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. The RIde Office is closed on RIPTA recognized holidays. Be ready to share the following information:

  • The date you want to travel.
  • Your starting address.
  • Your destination address.
  • The time you need to arrive at your destination and the time you need to return.

How much does a RIde Anywhere trip cost?

The fare is currently $4.00 one-way, the same as the RIde ADA paratransit program.

Can you guarantee that my trip request will be accommodated under this program?

RIPTA will make every effort to accommodate RIde Anywhere trip requests. However, should RIPTA’s RIde program face capacity limitations, ADA trips must be prioritized. 

Can I travel at any time of day?

RIde may accommodate trip requests outside standard hours, depending on availability.
