With Tropical Storm Henri expected to strengthen and impact our area by the end of this weekend, RIPTA is urging passengers to prepare for possible delays and detours. Passengers should sign up for email alerts at www.ripta.com and be aware that service information will be available at https://www.ripta.com/alerts, as well as RIPTA’s social media accounts and on the Transit App. You can find RIPTA on Facebook at @RideRIPTA and on Twitter at @RIPTA_RI. Passengers are also encouraged to monitor news reports as well.
As the storm moves through New England, RIPTA will continue working with the Governor’s Office and the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency. Due to the possibility of severe weather conditions, passengers are advised to be prepared for delays in service and the possibility of service being suspended if it becomes unsafe to travel. Safety is RIPTA’s top priority and passengers are asked to plan for adverse conditions.
Passengers can sign up for route-specific email alerts by visiting https://www.ripta.com/schedules. Click on the route you would like to receive service alerts for, and then click on “Receive Updates for This Schedule.” Enter your email address in the form that pops up and then click “Subscribe.” You will now receive service information regarding that bus route.
