The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour seven bus routes in the Providence area on Sunday, April 21, 2013 to accommodate the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Bicycle Race. Routes 33, 34, 52, 54, 60, 72, and 99 will be detoured from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
In addition to the eleven detoured routes, passengers should expect delays on the following routes:
Route 35 (Rumford)
Route 42 (Hope Street)
Route 78 (Beverage Hill/Newport Ave.)
Route 92 (Federal Hill/East Side)
The following detours will be in effect on Sunday, April 21st from 7:00am – 3:00pm:
Route 33 (Riverside):
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and South Water Street, continue onto Memorial Boulevard through to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, right onto South Water Street, and then resume regular route.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Interstate 195 West and I-95 North, take a right onto Exit 22, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, and then resume regular route.
Route 34 (East Providence):
Please refer to the Route 33 (Riverside) detour.
Route 52 (Branch/Bryant University):
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, left onto Washington, Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Stillman Street, right onto Park Row, left onto North Main Street, and then resume regular route.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Canal Street and Park Row, right onto Park Row, left onto Stillman Street, and then left onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop Q.
Route 54 (Lincoln/Woonsocket):
Outbound trips will travel the regular route, left onto Exchange Street, right onto Stillman Street, right onto Park Row, left onto North Main Street, and then resume regular route.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Canal Street and Park Row, right onto Park Row, left onto Stillman Street, left onto Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, and then resume regular route.
Route 60 (Providence/Newport):
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and South Water Street, continue onto Memorial Boulevard through to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, right onto South Water Street, and then resume regular route.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Interstate 195 West and I-95 North, take a right onto Exit 22 through to Memorial Boulevard, and then right onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop Q.
Route 72 (Weeden/Central Falls):
Please refer to the Route 52 (Branch/Bryant University) detour.
Route 99 (North Main/Pawtucket):
Please refer to the Route 54 (Lincoln/Woonsocket) detour.
