All routes are to expect minor delays around Kennedy Plaza between 9:15 AM to 11:15 AM

Providence, Rhode Island, September 15, 2022 — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour nineteen bus routes in the downtown Providence area on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in order to accommodate the IGT Downtown 5K Road Race. Routes 1, 14, 17, 19, 33, 34, 35, 50, 51, 54, 55, 56, 57, 60, 66, 72, 78, 92, and the R-Line will be on detour from 9:15AM to 11:15AM.  Memorial Boulevard, Dyer and Eddy Streets will be closed during this time.

The following routes will be detoured on Sunday, September 18, 2022:

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit)

SOUTH: Inbound trips will travel regular route to Hope and Thayer, continue on Hope Street, turn right on Angell Street, right on South Main Street, left on Smith Street, left on Gaspee Street to Francis Street, left on Washington Street, right on Exchange Street, right on Fulton Street, and then resume regular route.

NORTH:  Outbound trips will travel regular route.

R-Line:

NORTH: Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Bus Stop J, turn left onto    Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right on Francis Street, right on Smith Street and left onto North Main Street, and then resume regular route.

SOUTH: Inbound trips will travel regular route to North Main and Smith Streets, turn right on Smith Street, left on Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, left on Washington Street, right on Exchange Street and right on Fulton Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 14  (West Bay)

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel regular route to right on Exchange Street, right on Fulton Street, right on Dorrance Street through to Francis Street, left onto I-95 South and then resume regular route.

Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset)

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Washington Street, turn right on Exchange    Street. right on Fulton Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel regular route.

Route 19 (Plainfield/Westminster))

Please see Route 17 detour.

Route 33 (Riverside)

Inbound trips will travel regular route on Angell Street to right on South Main Street, left on Smith, left on Francis, and then left on Washington to regular route to Bus Stop H.

Outbound trips will travel regular route.

Route 34 (East Providence/Seekonk Square)

Please refer to the Route 33 (Riverside) detour.

Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Avenue)

Inbound trips will travel regular route to I-195 West to I-95 North to the Downtown Providence Exit, turn right on Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, left on Washington Street to Bus Stop H.

Outbound trips will turn right on Exchange Street, right on Fulton Street, left on Dorrance Street, right on Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, left on Point Street, right on South Main Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 50 (Douglas Ave./Bryant University)

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Smith Street, continue onto Francis Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will turn left on Exchange Terrace, right on Francis Street to Smith Street and then resume regular route.

Route 51 (Charles St/Twin River/CCRI)

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Canal Street, turn right on Smith Street, left on Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will leave Kennedy Plaza, turn left on Exchange Street, left on Exchange Terrace, right on Francis Street, right on Smith Street, left on Francis Street through to Dorrance Street and then resume regular route.

Route 54 (Lincoln/Woonsocket)

Please refer to Route 51 (Charles Street) detour.

Route 55 (Admiral/Providence College)

Please refer to Route 50 (Douglas Ave.) detour.

Route 56 (Chalkstone Ave.)

Please refer to Route 50 (Douglas Ave.) detour.

Route 57 (Smith Street)

Route 60 (Providence/Newport)

Inbound trips will travel regular route to I-195 West to I-95 North to the Downtown Providence Exit, turn right on Francis Street, and left on Exchange Terrace to Bus Stop Y.

Outbound trips will turn right on Exchange Street, right on Fulton Street, right on Dorrance Street through to France Street, left on I-95 South to I-195 East, and then resume regular route.

Route 66 (URI/Galilee)

Inbound trips will travel regular route but will not service the train station.

Outbound trips will travel regular route.

Route 72 (Weeden/Central Falls)

Route 78 (Beverage Hill/East Providence)

Please refer to Route 35 (Rumford) detour.

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side)

Eastbound trips will travel regular route to Bus Stop J, turn right on Exchange Street, right on Fulton Street, left on Dorrance Street, right on Dyer Street and then resume regular route.

Westbound trips will travel regular route to Dyer Street, turn left on Dorrance Streeet, right on lower Weybosset to Exchange Street, left on Fulton Street to Bus Stop D and then resume regular route.
