The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour eighteen bus routes in the downtown Providence area on Sunday, December 14, 2014 in order to accommodate the Downtown Jingle 5K Road Race.  Bus routes 6, 17, 19, 20, 22, 27, 28 will be detoured from 9:30am until 1pm.  Bus routes R-Line, 1, 3, 31, 33, 34, 50, 54, 60, 78 and 92 will be detoured from 10:30am until 12:30pm.  Bus Stops A, B, and C will be temporarily relocated next to the Dunkin Donuts Center. Bus Stop P will be temporarily relocated to Fulton Street in front of Citizens Bank from 9:30am to 1:00pm.Passengers can expect short delays during the Downtown Jingle 5K.

The following routes will be detoured on Sunday, December 14, 2014:

R-Line

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace through to West Exchange, left onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto

Broad Street and then resume regular route.

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad Street and Greene Street, left onto Greene Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, left onto Exchange Street and then resume regular route.

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Richmond and Point Streets, left onto Point Street, right onto E. Franklin Street through to I-95N, right at Exit 22 through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Westminster Street, left onto Fulton to temporary Bus Stop P, left on Exchange Street, right onto Washington Street and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Francis Street, right onto Francis Street, left onto I-95 South, right at the Eddy St. Exit, right onto Eddy Street and then resume regular route.

Route 3 (Warwick Ave):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Richmond and Point Streets, left onto Point Street, right onto E. Franklin Street through to I-95N, right at Exit 22 through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Terrace to Bus Stop J.

Outbound trips will leave via Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto I-95S, right onto Eddy Street and then resume regular route.

Route 6 (Prarie/R.W. Zoo):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to East Franklin Street, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to Bus Stop B.

Outbound trips will leave via Sabin Street, left onto Empire Street and then resume regular route.

Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Westminster Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to Bus Stop D.

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Westminster Street and then resume regular route.

Route 19 (Plainfield/Westminster):

Please refer to the Route 17 Dyer/Pocasset detour.

Route 20 (Elmwood Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Westminster Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to Bus Stop B.

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.

Route 22 (Pontiac Ave.):

Please refer to the Route 20 Elmwood Ave.

Route 27 (Manton):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broadway and Atwells Avenue, left onto Service Road, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to Bus Stop C.

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, and then resume regular route.

Route 28 (Broadway/Hartford):

Please refer to the Route 27 (Manton) detour.

Route 31 (Cranston St.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Westminster Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Washington Street, left onto Greene Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, and then right onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop I.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace through to West Exchange, left onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto

Westminster Street and then resume regular route.

Route 33 (Riverside):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will take a right onto Francis Street, left onto I-95S through to I-195E and then resume regular route.

Route 34 (East Providence):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to I-195W through to I-95N, right at the

Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, left onto Fulton Street to temporary Bus Stop P.

Outbound trips will leave Exchange Street via a left onto Memorial Boulevard, through to I-95S to I-195E and then resume regular route.

Route 50 (Douglas Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis Street and Memorial Boulevard, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, and then right onto Exchange Terrace to Bus Stop G.

Outbound trips will leave via Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street and then resume regular route.

Route 54 (Lincoln/Woonsocket)

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to I-95S and Exit 22 (Downtown Exit), right at Exit 22 through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Steeple Street, right onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop M.

Route 60 (Providence/Newport):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Steeple Street, left onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop O.

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Exchange Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard to the I-95S on-ramp, travel through to I-195E, and then resume regular route.

Route 78 (Beverage Hill/Newport Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the Tunnel and North Main Street, right onto North Main Street, left onto Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, left onto Fulton Street to temporary Bus Stop P.

Outbound trips will take a left onto Exchange Street, right onto Washington Street to the Tunnel and then resume regular route.

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side):

EAST: Inbound trips from Rhode Island College will travel the regular route to

LaSalle Square through to Empire Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Greene Street, right onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, and then left onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop L.

WEST: Trips from Eastside Market will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace to Bus Stop J. Trips will then travel through West Exchange, left onto Dean Street, right onto Atwells Avenue and then resume regular route.
