Providence Station 100 Gaspee Street, Providence

RIPTA buses stop right outside the train station. RIPTA Routes 50, 55, 56, and 57 serve Gaspee Street (State House side). Routes 3, 4, 51, 54, 58, 66, 72 and the R-Line serve Park Row West.

Passengers can connect to Amtrak and MBTA regional commuter rail services to Boston and Providence.

Providence Station is located a quarter-mile north of Kennedy Plaza, RIPTA’s main transit center.

Follow the signs to Kennedy Plaza to hop on buses to Newport, Wickford, Narragansett, T.F. Green Airport and other destinations. To get to Kennedy Plaza, exit the train station and walk towards Railroad Street. Turn right onto Railroad Street, and then continue onto Exchange Street to Kennedy Plaza.

Pawtucket-Central Falls Transit Center 300 Pine Street, Pawtucket

Routes 1, 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, 78, 80, QX and the R-Line serve this train station. Passengers can connect to MBTA regional commuter rail service to Boston and Providence.

TF Green Airport InterLink 700 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick

Route 14 serves this train station. Passengers can connect to the airport and MBTA regional commuter rail service here.

Wickford Junction 1011 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown

Routes 14, 65X and 66 serve this train station. Passengers can connect to MBTA regional commuter rail service. Wickford Junction is located a few miles away from the URI Kingston campus in North Kingstown. 

Kingston Railroad Station

Routes 64 and 66 serve this train station. Passengers can connect to Amtrak service. Kingston Railroad Station is 2 miles away from the URI Kingston campus in North Kingstown.

Westerly Train Station 14 Railroad Avenue, Westerly

Route 95x, Flex 204 and Flex 301 serve this train station. Passengers can connect to Amtrak service.

Connect to Airplanes

T.F. Green International Airport 2000 Post Road, Warwick

Routes 1, 20 and 66 stop at the far end of the commercial roadway in front of the airport terminal. Route 14 stops at the InterLink facility at 700 Jefferson Blvd.

Connect to Ferries

Block Island Ferry (Point Judith Traditional and Hi-Speed) 304 Great Island Road, Narragansett

Take Route 66 Outbound (Kennedy Plaza Stop X) to URI Kingston (Memorial Union), then transfer to Route 69 and ride to Galilee (Block Island Ferry).

Providence-Newport Ferry 25 Portugal Parkway, Providence

RIPTA runs seasonal complimentary shuttle bus service between the Providence train station, convention center, downtown, and the Providence to Newport ferry terminal.

Newport to Block Island Hi-Speed Ferry Perrotti Park, 39 America’s Cup Avenue, Newport

Routes 14, 24L, 60, 63, 64, 67, 68, and Flex 231 serve the Newport Transportation Center – only a 7-minute walk to the Ferry Landing located in Perotti Park. 

Connect with Bicycles

Combine riding transit with cycling gives passengers even more freedom to explore Rhode Island! RIPTA’s buses are equipped with bike racks so you can take the bus one way or part of the way and then pedal the rest. The bike racks are free and easy to use. Public bike racks are also available at Providence Station, Pawtucket-Central Falls Train Station, Kennedy Plaza and the Newport Transportation Center.

Warren Bike Path: Take Route 60 to Main Street, then ride your bike east down Child Street. You can access this bike path from the east end of Child Street (Kickemuit section of Warren).

Other Transit Options

GATRA – The Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA) serves the cities of Attleboro and Taunton, and the towns of Duxbury, Kingston, Marshfield, Middleborough, North Attleboro, Norton, Plainville, Plymouth, Raynham, Seekonk, and Wareham. RIPTA Route 1 passengers can connect to GATRA at Broadway & Benefit Street in Pawtucket.

SRTA – The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) serves 10 communities in Southeastern Massachusetts, including Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Somerset, Swansea, and Westport. RIPTA Route 24L passengers can transfer to SRTA at the Pettine Transportation Center in Fall River.

Greyhound / Peter Pan /  FlixBus Downtown Providence

Passengers on RIPTA Routes 27, 28, and 92 can connect to a FlixBus, Greyhound, or Peter Pan bus at the Rhode Island Convention Center (99 W Exchange Street) or at Broadway and Greene Street (in front the sign for the Regency Plaza apartments). Kennedy Plaza is a ten-minute walk from the convention center.

Passengers on RIPTA Routes 51, 54, 58, 72 can connect to Megabus.
