Call Center Will Now Be Open on Weekends Starting Saturday, July 6, 2024
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is pleased to announce the expansion of its Customer Service Call Center hours. Beginning Saturday, July 6, 2024, the Call Center will now be open on weekends to better serve its passengers. The new hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1PM to 4PM.
This expansion aims to provide more comprehensive support to the transit agency’s passengers, ensuring that they have access to the information and assistance they need, even on weekends. The decision to extend hours comes as part of RIPTA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing customer service and improving the overall passenger experience.
“Our passengers rely on us not just for transportation but also for timely and accurate information to plan their trips,” said Christopher Durand, interim Chief Executive Officer. “We understand that many people use our services seven days a week, and it is important that our Call Center is available during the same times they are riding our buses. This change reflects our dedication to meeting the needs of our passengers.”
The expanded hours will allow RIPTA to address a wider range of inquiries, from route information and schedule updates to fare details and lost property reports. Passengers can reach the Customer Service Call Center by calling 401-784-9500 x2012.
