Pursuant to authority granted by Rhode Island General Laws §39-18-4.1 and 49 CFR 287.5, RIPTA has set forth Rules of Conduct for Passengers and Patrons. The purpose of the regulation is to formally adopt existing agency practice and expectations and ensure the continued safety and well-being of the public and agency personnel. The societal benefits include the increased safety and well-being of our passengers and RIPTA personnel which may encourage an increase in ridership. Setting these clear expectations may also decrease the likelihood of disparate or unequal treatment. A copy of the regulation is found below.
