The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue) to accommodate the emergency closing of the Reservoir Avenue Bridge in Providence, Rhode Island. The detour will begin effective today, July 28, 2020 and will last until further notice. Route 22 will not serve bus stops on Reservoir Avenue between Narragansett Avenue and Elmwood Avenue.
The detour will be as follows:
Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Reservoir Avenue, right onto Narragansett Ave., left onto Roger Williams Avenue, left onto Elmwood Avenue and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Reservoir and Elmwood Avenues, continue onto Elmwood Avenue, right onto Roger Williams Avenue, right onto Narragansett Avenue, left onto Reservoir Avenue and then resume regular route.
