At RIPTA, you’ll first start off as a RIde Driver in our Paratransit Division. You’ll drive one of our 16-passenger paratransit vans, providing door-to-door service for older adults and people with disabilities who cannot use our fixed-route service to get where they need to go. After working in this position for 6-12 months, you can apply for a Fixed-Route Driver position, where you would operate a full-size bus along a predetermined route. Per the ATU 618 Collective Bargaining Agreement, all new hires must first start in the position of RIde Driver.
