Due to road construction on Smith Street in Providence, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 57 (Smith Street). RIPTA will detour Route 57 on Monday, August 7, 2017 starting at 5am through the last trip of the day on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Regular service is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

Route 57 (Smith Street) will detour as follows:

Monday, August 7, 2017:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Smith and Lyndhurst Streets, turn right onto Lyndhurst Street, left onto Eaton Street, right onto Smith Street and then resume regular route.                                                                  

Tuesday, August 8, 2017:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Smith Street

and Huxley Avenue, right onto Huxley Avenue, left onto Eaton Street, right onto Smith Street and then resume regular route.
