The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will adjust service on Route 210 Kingston Flex , Route 211 Blue Line, and on the URI Hill Climber due to class scheduling and winter break at the University of Rhode Island (URI). RIPTA will suspend service on the URI Hill Climber beginning Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Beginning Thursday, December 11, 2014, RIPTA will run abbreviated service on the Route 211 Blue Line; service on this line will be suspended beginning Saturday, December 20, 2014.
RIPTA will run abbreviated service on Route 210 Kingston Flex in conjunction with URI’s Winter Break, from Saturday, December 20, 2014, through Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Route 210 Kingston Flex will operate during the week from 8:00am – 5:00pm and on weekends from 10:00am – 4:35pm. In addition, the Route 210 Kingston Flex will not provide service from the Richmond Park N’ Ride to the URI Campus after Friday, December 19, 2014.
Regular service on the Route 210 Kingston Flex , Route 211 Blue Line and the Hill Climber will resume on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Route 210 Kingston Flex will resume service to the Richmond Park N’ Ride on Wednesday as well.
Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
Route 210 Kingston Flex , Route 211 Blue Line and the Hill Climber will not operate on Thursday, December 25, 2014, in observance of Christmas Day and Thursday, January 1, 2015 in observance of New Year’s Day. The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) will not be staffed on either holiday.
RIPTA, the State’s Mobility Manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on 54 bus routes throughout the state. Last year, we provided 20.5 million rides.
