The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour twelve bus routes in the Providence area on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in order to accommodate the RI Pride Parade.  Routes 1, 3, will be detoured from 7:30pm until 9pm.  Routes 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 31, 35, 78, 92 and the R-Line will be detoured from 7:30pm until 10pm.  Routes 33, 34 and 60 will be detoured all day and night on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 to accommodate PrideFest Celebrations on South Water Street; South Water Street will be closed during this time.

The following detours will be in effect on Saturday, June 18, 2016:

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) :

NORTH Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Eddy Street, continue on Dyer Street through to Memorial Boulevard, turn left onto Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop H. Trips will then turn left onto Exchange Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, left onto South Main Street, right at the East Side Tunnel and then resume regular route.

SOUTH Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the East Side Tunnel, turn right onto North Main Street, left onto Park Row, left onto Canal Street, right onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, to Bus Stop H. Trips will then turn left onto Exchange Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Eddy Street and then resume regular route.

Route 3 (Warwick Avenue):

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Eddy Street, continue on Eddy Street through to Dyer Street through to Memorial Boulevard, left onto Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop I.  

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop I, turn left onto Exchange Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 17 (Dyer/Pocassett):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Westminster Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway through to Empire Street, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop J.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop J, turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto Service Road right onto Westminster Street and then resume regular route.

Route 18 (Union Ave.):

Route 19 (Plainfield/Westminster):

Please refer to the Route 17 (Dyer/Pocassett)

Route 20 (Elmwood Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Broad Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway through to Empire Street, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street Bus Stop G.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop G, turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto John Partington Way, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.

Route 22 (Pontiac Ave.):

Please refer to the Route 20 (Elmwood Ave.) detour.

Route 31 (Cranston Street):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Westminster Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway through to Empire Street, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street Bus Stop H.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop H, turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Westminster Street and then resume regular route.

Route 33 (Riverside) – JUNE 17 & JUNE 18:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route until 11AM. Trips will then travel the regular route to North Main Street, left onto Park Row, left onto Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, right onto South Water Street and then resume regular route.

Route 34 (East Providence) – JUNE 17 & JUNE 18:

Please refer to the Route 33(Riverside) detour.

Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route until 11AM. Trips will then travel the regular route to the East Side Tunnel, right onto North Main Street, left onto Park Row, left onto Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, left onto South Main Street, right at the East Side Tunnel and then resume regular route.

Route 60 (Providence/Newport) ) – JUNE 17 & JUNE 18:

Please refer to the Route 33(Riverside) detour.

Route 78 (Beverage Hill/East Providence):

Please refer to the Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Ave.) detour.

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side):

Eastbound trips from Rhode Island College to Kennedy Plaza will leave Bus Stop I, turn left onto Exchange Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, left onto South Main Street, right at the East Side Tunnel and then resume regular route.

Westbound trips will travel the regular route to the East Side Tunnel, right onto North Main Street, left onto Park Row, left onto Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street through to Ex. Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, and left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop I. Trips will then turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace and then resume regular route.

R-LINE (Broad/North Main):

NORTH Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Broad Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop F. Trips will then turn left onto Exchange Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, left onto South Main Street through to North Main Street and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route  the Canal Street, turn right onto Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop F, left onto East Approach, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.
