The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 50 (Douglas Ave./Bryant University), Route 55 (Admiral/Providence College), Route 56 (Chalkstone Ave.) and Route 57 (Smith St.) in the downtown Providence area from Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 9 am to Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 5 pm to accommodate the Gloria Gemma Flames of Hope celebration.  Gaspee Street will be closed during this time.  

ROUTE 50 (DOUGLAS AVE./BRYANT UNIVERSITY) 

Outbound trips will travel regular route to Francis Street, turn left on Smith Street and then resume regular route. Reverse on Inbound. 

ROUTE 55 (ADMIRAL/PROVIDENCE COLLEGE) 

Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Francis and Gaspee Streets, continue on Francis Street, turn right on Smith Street and then resume regular route. 

Reverse on Inbound. 

ROUTE 56 (CHALKSTONE AVE.)
