The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour sixteen bus routes in Providence on Sunday, July 20, 2014 in order to accommodate the Craft Brew 5K.  Bus routes 6, 17, 19, 20, 22, 27, 28 will be detoured from 9am until 1pm.

Bus routes R-Line, 1, 3, 31, 32, 33, 34, 50, 60, and 92 will be detoured from 10:30am until 12:30pm.  Passengers can expect short delays on these routes during the Craft Brew 5K.

Kennedy Plaza closed to all bus traffic on Saturday, July 12, 2014.  RIPTA has temporarily relocated all bus stops out of Kennedy Plaza to accommodate City of Providence renovations of the Plaza. Bus stops have been temporarily relocated to Exchange Terrace, Sabin Street, Exchange Street, Fountain Street and Steeple Street. 

The following routes will be detoured on Sunday, July 20, 2014:

R-Line

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace through to West Exchange, left onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto

 Broad Street and then resume regular route. 

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, right onto LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street to Bus Stop E Trips will then leave Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, left onto Exchange Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Richmond and Point Streets, left onto Point Street, right onto E. Franklin Street through to I-95N, right at Exit 22 through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Westminster Street, right onto Exchange Street to temporary Bus Stop P.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route.

Route 3 (Warwick Ave):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Richmond and Point Streets, left onto Point Street, right onto E. Franklin Street through to I-95N, right at Exit 22 through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Westminster Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Terrace to temporary Bus Stop J.

Outbound trips will leave via Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto I-95S, right onto Eddy Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 6 (Prarie/R.W. Zoo):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to East Franklin Street, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto  West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to temporary Bus Stop B.

Outbound trips will leave via Sabin Street, left onto Empire Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Westminster Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to temporary Bus Stop D. 

Outbound trips will leave via Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Westminster Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 19 (Plainfield/Westminster):

Please refer to the Route 17 Dyer/Pocasset detour.

Route 20 (Elmwood Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Westminster Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to temporary Bus Stop B. 

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 22 (Pontiac Ave.):

Please refer to the Route 20 Elmwood Ave.

Route 27 (Manton):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broadway and Atwells Avenue, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto Dean Street, right onto West Exchange, right onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to Bus Stop C. 

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, and then resume regular route. 

Route 28 (Broadway/Hartford):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broadway and

Service Road, left onto Service Road to I-95N, right at the State Offices Exit, left onto Orms Street, right onto Charles Street through to Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street through to Exchange to Bus Stop G.     

Outbound trips will leave via a right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, and then resume regular route. 

Route 31 (Cranston St.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Westminster Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, right onto LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, onto Exchange Street to temporary Bus Stop I. 

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace through to West Exchange, left onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) right onto Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto

Westminster Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 32 (East Providence/Wampanoag):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route South Main Street, left onto Steeple Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Westminster Street, right onto Exchange Street to temporary Bus Stop P.

Outbound trips will leave Exchange Street via a left onto Memorial Boulevard, travel onto the I-95S on-ramp, take I-95S to I-195E and then resume regular route. 

Route 33 (Riverside):

Please refer to the 32 East Providence/Wampanoag detour.

Route 34 (East Providence):

Please refer to the 32 East Providence/Wampanoag detour.

Route 50 (Douglas Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis Street and West Exchange, right onto West Exchange, left onto Service Road (between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Convention Center) to temporary Bus Stop C.

Outbound trips will leavevia Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street and then resume regular route.

Route 60 (Providence/Newport):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Steeple Street, left onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop O.

Outbound tripswill leave via a left onto Washington Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard to the I-95S on-ramp, travel through toI-195E, and then resume regular route. 

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side):

EAST: Inbound trips from Rhode Island College will travel the regular route to

Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, left onto Exchange Street to temporary Bus Stop L.

WEST:  Trips from Eastside Market will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace to Bus Stop J.  Trips will then travel through West Exchange, left onto Dean Street, right onto Atwells Avenue and then resume regular route.
