Routes 1, 32, 33, 34, and 40 will be detoured on Friday, May 24 from 6:30pm until Midnight to accommodate the Brown University campus dance. Waterman Avenue will be closed during this time.

Route 1 Northbound trips will travel regular route to North Main St., turn left onto North Main St., right onto Olney St., right onto Hope St. through to Thayer St., left onto Waterman Ave. and then resume regular route.

Route 1 Southbound trips will travel regular route to Thayer St., turn left onto Waterman Ave., left onto Brooke St., left onto Angell St., right onto North Main St. and then resume regular route.

Routes 32, 33, 34, and 40 Outbound trips will travel regular route to North Main St., left onto North Main St., right onto Olney St., right onto Hope St. through to Thayer St., left onto Waterman Ave. and then resume regular route.

Routes 32, 33, 34, and 40 Inbound trips will travel regular route to Angell St., continue down Angell St., turn right onto North Main St. and then resume regular route.

Routes 1, 32, 33, 34, 40 and 61x will be on detour beginning Monday, March 25, 2024 through mid-September to accommodate East Side Tunnel construction. The Tunnel will be closed for repairs during that time.

Routes 32, 33, 34, 40 and 61x

Inbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Angell and Thayer Streets, continue onto Angell Street through to Steeple Street and then resume regular route. Passengers will utilize the bus stop on Angell Street at Hope Street. 

Outbound trips will travel regular route to North Main Street and the East Side Tunnel, continue up the hill along Waterman Street and then resume regular route. Passengers will utilize the bus stop on Waterman Street at Hope Street.

Route 1

Inbound trips will travel regular route to Thayer Street, left onto Waterman Street, left onto Brook Street, left onto Angell Street, continue onto Angell Street through to Steeple Street and then resume regular route toward downtown Providence.

Outbound trips will travel regular route to North Main Street and the East Side Tunnel, continue up the hill along Waterman Street, turn left onto Brook Street and then resume regular route.

3 | Oakland Beach

Route 3 will be detoured on Wednesday, July 3 from 5PM to Midnight to accommodate fireworks at Oakland beach. The Suburban Parkway will be closed during this time.

Outbound trips will travel regular route to Oakland Beach and Ottawa Avenues, turn left onto Ottawa Ave., right onto Pequot Ave., and then right onto Suburban Parkway. Passengers will be dropped off and picked up on Suburban Parkway at Oakland Beach Avenue.

Inbound trips will leave the Suburban Parkway via a right onto Oakland Beach Ave. and then resume regular route.

14 | West Bay
69 | Narragansett/Galilee

Routes 14 and 69 will be detoured on Friday, July 26 from 3:30pm to 9pm to accommodate the Blessing of the Fleet Road Race.

Route 14 Outbound trips will travel regular route to Boston Neck Road, turn right onto Narragansett Ave., right onto  Kingston Rd., circle the rotary to Point Judith Rd., and then right into Salt Pond Plaza.

Inbound trips will leave Salt Pond Plaza, turn left onto Point Judith Rd., right onto Kingston Rd., left onto Narragansett Ave., left Boston Neck Road and then resume regular route.

Route 69 Outbound trips will travel regular route to Point Judith Rd., continue onto Point Judith Rd., right at the Galilee Connector, left onto Great Island Rd., left onto Sand Hill Cove Rd., left at the Galilee Connector and then the bus will lay off.

Inbound trips will  leave the lay off area, turn left onto Great Island Road (service ferry stop), left onto Sand Hill Cove Rd., left at the Galilee Connector, right onto Great Island Rd., right onto Galilee Escape Rd., left onto Point Judith Rd., and then resume regular route.

30 | Arlington/Oaklawn

Routes 17 and 30 will be detoured from 8am to 9:15am to accommodate the Saint Mary’s Feast Road Race.

Route 17 Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Dyer Ave. and Cranston St., continue onto Dyer Ave. to the lot behind the fire station. No Service Beyond Dyer Ave. Inbound trips will leave the lot behind the fire station, turn left onto Dyer Ave., and then resume regular route.

Route 30 Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Dyer Ave. and Cranston St., turn left onto Dyer Ave., continue on Budlong Rd. through to Dean Parkway, turn left onto Oakland Ave. and then resume regular route. Inbound trips will travel regular route to Oakland Ave., turn right onto Dean Parkway, continue onto Budlong Rd. through to Dyer Ave., turn right onto Cranston St. and then resume regular route.

Route 30 Outbound is on detour until approx. 4pm. Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Cranston and Connecticut Streets, turn left onto Connecticut St., right onto Southern St., right onto Park Ave., left onto Cranston St, and then resume regular route.

Inbound trips will travel regular route to Taunton Ave., turn right on Valley t o Waterfront Drive, right on Henderson Bridge to Angell Street, left on Gano Street, and then right onto I-195 West to regular route. Outbound trips will travel regular route.

50 | Douglas Ave/Bryant University

Route 50 will be on detour from 8:45PM to 9:45PM to accommodate the 4th of July fireworks celebration in North Providence.

Inbound trips will travel regular route to Douglas Pike and Twin River Road, turn left on Twin River Road, turn right onto the Rte. 146 South on-ramp, exit right at the Mineral Spring Exit, turn right onto Mineral Spring Ave., left onto Douglas Ave. and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel regular route to Douglas Pike and Mineral Spring Ave., turn right onto Mineral Spring Ave., left onto Charles St., right onto Rte. 146 North, exit right at the Twin River Road Exit, turn left onto Twin River

Road, right onto Douglas Pike and then resume regular route.

Route 56 is on detour from now until November 1, 2024 due to construction. Route 56 cannot serve the VA Hospital entrance. Buses will pick up on Chalkstone Ave.

Route 58 is on detour until further notice due to the West River Street Bridge Replacement Project. Inbound trips will travel regular route to Branch Ave., turn right onto North Main St., right onto Barbara Leonard Way, right onto Corliss St. through to W. River St., left onto Charles St. and then resume regular route.

RIPTA will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) on Thursday, July 4, to accommodate the Bristol Fourth of July Parade. The detour will be in effect from 7:45am to 1:00pm on the Fourth of July.  
Inbound trips will travel regular route to Bristol Ferry Road, turn right onto Metacom Avenue, left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route. Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Hope Street and Gooding Avenue, turn left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Metacom Avenue, bear left onto Bristol Ferry Road, and then resume regular route.

RIPTA will detour Route 92 every Saturday from 3:00pm to 12am to accommodate outdoor dining on Federal Hill. Outbound trips will travel regular route to Service Road # 7, turn left onto Service Road, right onto Broadway, right onto Harris Ave., left onto Atwells Ave. and then resume regular route. Inbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Atwells and Harris Avenues, turn right onto Harris Ave., left onto Broadway and then resume regular route.
